Ive seen an article that said specifically that the xc60 t8 has awful reliability. They have been great. But i seemed to be confused at the difference between activating the brake hold button in the center console to keep the vehicle still without pressing the brake and deactivating the creep setting. From what ive gathered thats where the poor rating comes from. I noticed that volvo gives a standard 5 year unlimited mile warranty, upgradeable to 10 years, with their certified pre-owned cars. The volvo certified pre-owned warranty is better than the standard new warranty, right? The mechanicals are fairly bomb proof so you wont really have to worry about that. Are the 2016-2018 xc90s really that unreliable and expensive to maintain? The new ones we have rarely been into. The 2024 models also introduced a new infotainment and new computer so theyve had some issues with that. I really like that volvo is a comparable of very nice luxury cars, without the flashiness associated with mercedes, bmw etc. Out of warranty cars have a ~$15-25k advantage for only being 2-3 years older. I want a volvo xc60 t8 because their non-plug-in hybrids have pretty rough gas mileage. That seems absurd, but thats more or less what the depreciation curve suggests. Honestly, if youre going new/newer, look for the long range battery version. Thats a lot better than the standard volvo new car warranty of 50,000 miles or 4 years.
